When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for a people to denounce the actions of their government, and to exercise the fundamental rights which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to undertake substantial, comprehensive, yet peaceful reform.

We hold these truths to be self evident:

  • That the Principles affirmed within our Nation’s Declaration of Independence, remain universally applicable to all men and women, and forever shall.
  • That all men and women are endowed by their Creator, not by government, with the inalienable right to pursue, and to accumulate, wealth, upon their individual merits; and that reference within our Nation’s Declaration of Independence affirming “the pursuit of Happiness”, as an inviolate and fundamental right, embraces each person’s right to pursue and accumulate wealth.
  • That the creation of private wealth is ultimately the sole creator of employment, personal income, tax revenues, and economic security for any nation.
  • That it is the duty of a just government to protect and facilitate the exercise of this right.
  • That all men and women are responsible for the decisions they make as individuals, and for the economic consequences of those decisions; that obstacles to the pursuit of wealth are inherent to all men and women; and that no man or woman, by dint of membership within a group, or favored political class, is more entitled than another to avoid the consequences of their personal decisions, nor to be compensated for the obstacles they face.
  • That our mutual and unassailable commitment to ensure equality of opportunity does not entitle any man or woman to equality of result; and that the duty of a just government to ensure equal opportunity is limited to the duty of providing equal access to, and the equal quality of, such training and education, and to such facilities, as free men and women of different circumstances may reasonably require in order to compete on their own merits.
  • That governments derive their just powers to tax wealth and to regulate the pursuit of wealth, by the consent of the governed, and only then as necessary to: ensure fairness and honesty in the day-to-day affairs of free men and women; to provide for the common defense; to provide for common facilities and services not reasonably and competitively provided by the private sector; and to apportion to the needy only those amounts required to humanely assist them, as required in excess of our charitable contributions;
  • That our continuing and inviolate commitment, as a charitable nation, to assist those in need entitles no able-bodied man or woman to a minimum standard of public support;

– That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men and Women, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new, or reformed, Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations evinces a design to deprive The People of their Fundamental Rights, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government and to provide new Guards for their future security. –Such has been the patient sufferance of We the People of the United States of America; and such is now the necessity which constrains us to reform our Systems of Government. The history of Presidents past, and particularly (but not exclusively) of This President, and the history of many elected and appointed officials, particularly (but not exclusively) members the Majority Party now in power, is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having as a direct consequence the reduction of our Sacred Liberties.

To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world:

  • They have recklessly spent the nation’s money, incurring debt, even in good times, and even greater debt in bad; and have thus incurred unconscionable, and unsustainable, levels of public debt.
  • They have apportioned the earned wealth of many to others, to shamelessly win the political favor of those to whom wealth is apportioned.
  • They have penalized, through excessive taxation and regulation, and demonized, those who, by their own labor or capital, create wealth, employment, and opportunity.
  • They have permitted some companies to become so large, that the failure of any one of them threatens our economy, and the world economy. In legislation proposed, they have failed to address this fundamental issue. As a result, they have spent billions of our dollars to support the reckless decisions of some companies, while allowing smaller companies impacted by that recklessness to fail.
  • They have trampled upon the rights of bondholders in bankruptcy, in direct contradiction of our laws.
  • They have used the power of government to coerce lenders, particularly mortgage lenders, to loan money to those unable to repay.
  • They have refused to acknowledge, or to even discuss, their role in requiring sub-prime lending practices that now threaten the world economy.
  • They have refused to reform the Nation’s two largest mortgage lenders, both of whom are government sanctioned, that now hold ninety percent of our Nation’s mortgages.
  • They refuse to acknowledge what all thoughtful men and women outside of government know — that there are only two parallel paths toward resolution of our Nation’s debt: creation of a full employment economy driven by a vibrant private sector, and absolute fiscal restraint by government.
  • They have refused to implement tax and regulatory reforms capable of spurring private sector investment and employment, choosing instead to increase our taxes while they incur deficits, add to our public debt, and spend money on favored projects that benefit their political constituencies.
  • They have used taxation and regulation to favor some industries over others.
  • They have mandated upon the States costly programs that the States cannot afford.
  • They have failed, despite an abundance of oil, natural gas and other resources within our boundaries, to establish the energy independence of our Nation.
  • They have used unequal taxation, burdensome regulations, administrative fiat, and intimidation, to promote their own political agenda, and to stifle dissent.
  • They have failed to allow free-market forces to create greater efficiency, and to lower costs, within the world’s greatest health care system – our own — while imposing upon that system intolerable mandates and controls, all at unsustainable levels of public expense.
  • They have adopted, and continue to pursue, European economic and social models, which carry the distinct echo of policies many of our ancestors left Europe to escape.
  • They have failed to secure our Nation’s borders. Yet they seek amnesty for those who have entered our Country in violation of our laws, while lawful citizens bear the cost of their presence, and while millions of capable people throughout the world patiently wait for the opportunity to lawfully immigrate to Our Country.
  • This President has failed to effectively prosecute wars in the Middle East, or to effectively defend our Nation against terrorist attack. Only luck has prevented the loss of life within our borders.
  • This President has pressed his own expensive, government-centered, political agenda, while ignoring the immediate needs, and the enormous potential, of average Americans who pursue happiness with a free-market economy.

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions to the President and Congress have been answered only by repeated injury. A President, a Congress, or an appointed official, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a person hostile to the Fundamental Principals articulated in our Declaration of Independence, and in This Declaration, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Nor have we been wanting in attention to our Government, or Our Nation. We have paid its taxes. We have obeyed its laws. We have served, and have encouraged our Sons and Daughters to serve, the greater good, in the Military, or in Public Service. We have donated to charities to help the needy without the intervention of Government. We support countless worthy causes. We help our neighbors. We pray for our Nation, and for all the people in it. We have appealed to our Government’s sense of native justice. They have been deaf to the voice of justice and consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity to reverse the course of Government in favor of the Principals articulated in Our Declaration of Independence, and in This Declaration. Unlike our Founders, we do not declare our Government “Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.” We declare them unfit to lead the greatest and most free Nation on Earth. We declare them unfit to envision the future greatness of which we, a Free People, are capable.

We, therefore, the People of the United States of America, do, in our own name, solemnly publish and declare, that We the People of the United States of America are, of Right ought to be Free, that on behalf of ourselves and future generations, we hereby assert our Fundamental Freedoms, and that we shall, without equivocation, pursue to our dying breath, the reversal of policies that threaten, and the establishment of policies that protect, the Fundamental Rights which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle us. And for the support of our Declaration of Independence, and of This Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.
